In 2020, I found myself at a crossroads. I was devastated after losing a significant amount of money and realizing I had poured my time into people and pursuits that weren’t meant for me. Yet, amidst the turmoil, I discovered something important: despite the hardships, I remained a kind, strong, and loving person.
It was during this period of self-reflection that an image came to me—a monkey and a gorilla. The inspiration struck as I recalled my time at Gorilla Circuits, which reignited memories of my teenage years in Mexico, flipping through a skate magazine called "Gorilla." Those days were filled with a passion for art in all its forms, but that passion was challenged when my mom accidentally threw away all my projects. I lost not only my physical artwork but also my Photoshop skills and years of hard work saved on a USB. It was devastating.
Art was not my only dream; I also aspired to be a poet. I remember participating in a poetry competition where I didn’t win, but what stayed with me was the way I recited my piece. The passion I poured into my performance was palpable, and I could see the emotions on my teachers' faces—they were moved to tears. That moment filled me with pride and reaffirmed my commitment to my creative journey.
From this whirlwind of experiences, the concept for my logo emerged, serving as a reminder of my resilience and the importance of staying true to myself. Each line I draw represents not just a visual identity, but a testament to my journey and the strength I carry forward.
